ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the safe and efficient warehousing and delivery of our products to customers, both internal and external. We are seeking an individual with previous warehouse operations and management experience, to drive engagement and ensure the continual review, improvement and maintenance of operational activities to provide efficiency, service, safety, engagement and value within the DC operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Daily management of all operational activities, processes and systems
• Provide mentoring, coaching and development of Operational team members within the DC, ensuring the highest levels of safety (OHS & E compliance), accuracy, productivity, and performance
• Assist with the ongoing management of all warehousing functions, receiving, store order picking, E-commence operations, inventory and dispatch
• Liaise with customers, either directly or through direct reports to ensure customer service expectations are being met through the feedback processes
• Facilitate the safety culture within the business and review and investigate all incidents

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

• Previous experience in warehouse operations and management in retail logistics or FMCG environments
• Strong operational management skills in a Distribution Centre with a large range of SKU-s, short lead-times, rapid turn-over and high customers service demands
• Energetic and flexible individual who is accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with proven capacity to deal effectively with multiple tasks and competing demands
• Ability to lead a team to continuously improve its performance and establish processes for good teamwork
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Manhattan WMS would be advantages
