About the Role

We are seeking a creative and passionate Apparel Textile & Graphic Designer to join the Jay Jays team! The successful candidate will be working within the Girlswear Graphics department.

Working closely with the Graphic Design Manager and product teams, you will be responsible for designing and developing original artworks and illustrations across placement prints and yardage artworks.

This role is a full time, 12 month fixed term contract based at our Support Office on St Kilda Rd, Melbourne. 

Responsibilities

• Creating yardage and placement prints in line with our brand handwriting
• Work autonomously and as part of a team
• Maintain a print resource library and develop trend booklets at the beginning of each season　
• Continually research and develop trend and print concepts
• Work across different buyers and subcategories within the brand
• Liaise with suppliers on artwork, layout dimensions and pantone colours
• Producing garment CADs of our product range

Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge and experience in working with Mac, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Minimum 3 years’ experience within a similar retail textiles role
• Graphic/textile design experience within retail fashion with fabric knowledge and yardage print experience
• Strong illustration skills and a natural creative flair
• Excellent communication and the ability to work as part of a team
• Outstanding attention to detail and time management skills
