Myer is looking for a motivated Category Buyer in Training to join the Homewares team! This role is the perfect next step for someone that has seasoned experience within the merchandise space. If you are ready to progress your career journey, this opportunity could be for you!

 About the Role:

  • Develop and deliver product strategies for your portfolio, with direct links to Myer's overall strategy and relevant customer segments 
  • Manage range selection, order placement and financial performance of the business, including budgets and pricing
  • Apply negotiation skills to achieve optimal trading terms that deliver commercial targets
  • Develop skills to enable you to drive the marketing and communications strategy specific to the category, and in line with the Myer strategy

  About You:

  • Strong financial acumen combined with a thorough understanding of product, retail systems and processes will be advantageous in this role
  • Be able to plan and prioritise own workload to effectively and consistently deliver on individual and team objectives
  • Strong ability to work autonomously and to communicate effectively with the team while role modelling teamwork and collaboration
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
  • Proven time management, attention to detail and planning skills
  • A passion for merchandise buying with previous experience in a similar field would be advantageous
  • An understanding of Myer systems will be highly regarded
